- OnePlus Watch's first teaser is out confirming it will launch soon.
- OnePlus, however, has not said anything on when the launch will happen.
- OnePlus Watch could come running Android-based Wear OS.
OnePlus Watch was speculated to arrive alongside the OnePlus 8T at yesterday's event. But that did not happen to the surprise of OnePlus fans. Well, it looks like the company has decided when it will launch the OnePlus Watch. But while it has chosen to not share that with us, OnePlus is teasing the arrival of its first smartwatch in India.
In a tweet, OnePlus India posted a sketch of a smartwatch that it claims belongs to the year 2015. All we see in the accompanying image is a dial and a strap, but there is no definite image to infer anything. OnePlus has captioned this image: "More things are coming to the OnePlus ecosystem. It's just a matter of time." The keyword here is "time" that directly points at the upcoming smartwatch from OnePlus.
But while we have the confirmation from the horse's mouth, we are not sure when the OnePlus' smartwatch is expected. The company is not saying anything about the launch date but if we were to take a wild guess, OnePlus might be looking at a pre-Diwali timeline to ring in the festivities. Again, we are not sure if that will be true. OnePlus will drop more hints in the coming days but until that happens, we are left with this sketch and the speculation.
OnePlus Watch is rumoured to come with a round dial but nothing is set in stone as of now. The smartwatch could be more like what Oppo has packed with its Oppo Watch. This could mean we are looking at Wear OS software that will run on the OnePlus smartwatch. The chipset is also not known but we might see the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor. OnePlus has always been about the latest and top-class chipsets, in which case the Wear 4100 SoC seems the right candidate.
For what it is worth, OnePlus Watch is going to be a worthy deal for OnePlus users.
