The Chinese company has announced it is bringing the budget smartphone with a 90Hz display later this month as it looks to flood the Indian market with A-series. We saw Oppo launching the A52, A12, and A92 in India recently and it is now bringing the A53. The Oppo A53 just debuted in Indonesia at a price that translates to around Rs 12,700.
Oppo India took to Twitter to announce that the A53 will debut at an online event at 12.30 pm on August 25. Flipkart has also listed the A53 ahead of the launch. Typically, Oppo smartphones arrive on multiple online platforms and are not exclusively sold. Maybe Oppo is looking to sell the A53 online only on Flipkart. We, however, are not sure yet. Oppo A53 could cost well under Rs 15,000 if we go by the Indonesian price.
Oppo launched the A53 as the first smartphone that houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. The Oppo A53 runs Android 10-based ColorOS 7.2, which means you get dark mode, smart replies, and gesture navigation.
On the front, there is a 6.5-inch 720p display with 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a punch-hole on the top right that houses a 16-megapixel camera. At the back, the Oppo A53 has three cameras of 16-megapixels and 2-megapixels. The Oppo A53 is backed by a 5000mAh battery that charges at up to 18W through the bundled charger.
