- Oppo may launch the F19 Pro+ smartphone this year.
- The F19 Pro+ is likely a better-specced model in the F19 series.
- The other two models reported so far are F19 and F19 Pro.
Oppo may take a detour from its actual launch cycle for the F-series this year. A recent report suggested Oppo is keeping the F19 name for its next F-series phones while F21 will exist too. Going by the previous launches, there are supposed to be two smartphones under the F19 series, the F19 and the F19 Pro. However, a brand-new device has been spotted on the Google ARCore list of eligible smartphones and it may be the high-end F19 series phone. Oppo may also launch F19 Pro+ this year alongside the F19 and F19 Pro.
According to a report by MySmartPrice, the Oppo F19 Pro+ device has been certified on the Google ARCore repository. While this surely confirms the existence of this device, the listing also does specify that the F19 Pro+ will support Augmented Reality-driven applications with Google's ARCore libraries integration. The support for top-class AR services may also mean the F19 Pro+ will have a better chipset and GPU than the ones you would expect the other two F19 series phones to have. All in all, this smartphone may be a thoroughly spruced-up phone.
Oppo F19 Pro+ launch
The report further says that Oppo may bring the F19 Pro+ to markets in accordance with the staggered launch cycle. This essentially means that the F19 and F19 Pro may be launched first by Oppo while the release of the F19 Pro+ will follow. Oppo has not even confirmed any of these devices yet, so it is not clear if these assumptions will turn out to be true or not.
Further, the Oppo F19 Pro+ specifications are not available at the moment. But if previous F-series phones are anything to go by, Oppo may opt for a MediaTek chipset for the F19 Pro+. Although the F19 Pro+ does not have a predecessor, the F17 Pro specifications can be a good indication. The F17 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, which was among the good ones for mid-range. But a year later, we have Dimensity chipsets from MediaTek that not only bring significant improvements on Helio processors but also unleash the power of 5G onto the phone. This might mean the F19 Pro+ will have 5G connectivity.
Other bits about the specifications of the F19 Pro+ include fast charging support, although not of the level as high as what Reno series comes with, better cameras with improved night photography, and Android 11-based ColorOS 11 under the hood. The F19 Pro, on the other hand, is rumoured to come with a telephoto camera with 10X lossless zoom. Considering the F19 Pro+ is supposed to be a better-specced phone than the F19 Pro, we can expect an even more capable telephoto camera. Or maybe, Oppo may throw a periscope camera in the mix to take things a notch up.
Oppo is expected to launch the F19 series in March this year. The initial launch could take place in China while the India release, if not the global rollout, may get slated for around the same timeframe.
