- Oppo Find X3 Pro is the latest flagship phone that takes on Mi 11.
- The Find X3 Pro brings major improvements over the Find X2 Pro.
- The Oppo Find X3 Pro has a new 3MP microscopic lens on the back.
Oppo finally launched the very obvious Find X3 Pro, its latest and greatest flagship that is aimed at top-class customers. It is meant to give a tough fight to Xiaomi Mi 11 and Samsung Galaxy S21 that were launched not long ago. Of course, the phone has high-end specifications, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, but Oppo is making serious claims. To back these claims, Oppo has got some actually interesting features, the new 10-bit full-colour path and the new microscopic camera, which delves deeper into the world of macros.
With all those specifications, the Find X3 Pro comes across as a stout phone but it is not radically different from last year's Find X2 Pro. The Find X2 Pro set some benchmarks last year at least for itself on how qualified flagship phones should be. For a long time, the flagship market has been all about the battle between Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, Huawei, and Xiaomi. Oppo made a late entry but it has proven it is worthy of being in the club. So, how different is the new Find X3 Pro from last year's Find X2 Pro? Here is the comparison between their specifications.
Oppo Find X3 vs Find X2 Pro
Display: The Find X3 Pro brings a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED display with 10-bit colour support (1 billion colours) and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This is an improved one over the one on the Find X2 Pro that features a display of the same size with QHD+ resolution but without an adaptive refresh rate. The Find X2 Pro screen supports up to 120Hz fixed refresh rates.
Processor: This is an area where the two phones are generation apart. While the Find X2 Pro was powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor, the new Find X3 Pro uses the latest octa-core Snapdragon 888 chipset with Adreno 660 GPU.
RAM and Storage: The Find X3 Pro uses up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Find X2 Pro, too, had the same amount of RAM, it has a 512GB storage variant in addition to the 256GB one. But the storage was based on the UFS 3.0 technology.
Rear Cameras: Oppo has brought radical changes to the Find X-series cameras. The Find X3 Pro has two 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors, one with a wide-angle lens and OIS and the other one with an ultra-wide-angle lens, both supporting 1 billion colours and the full-colour path. There is a 13MP telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom and 20X digital zoom and a 3MP microscopic camera. This 3MP microlens is said to offer 60X magnification, which is a drastic improvement over nearly useless macro lenses on a number of Android phones.
The Find X2 Pro, on the other hand, came with two 48MP sensors, one with a wide-angle lens with OIS and the other one with an ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a third 13MP camera that uses a periscope lens. Oppo has traded off the periscope lens with the new telephoto camera on the new Find X3 Pro.
Front Cameras: The Oppo Find X3 Pro comes with a 32MP with a wide-angle sensor, which is the same as the one on the Find X2 Pro.
Battery: The Oppo Find X3 Pro packs a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast wired charging and 30W fast wireless charging. This is a larger capacity than the 4260mAh battery that the Find X2 Pro comes with. Both phones support the USB-PD delivery system.
OS: The Find X3 Pro runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11.2 while the Find X2 Pro came preloaded with Android 10-based ColorOS 7.1.
