- Oppo is working on its television that might come in two sizes.
- The Oppo TV 55-inch and 65-inch have been spotted on a certification website.
- Oppo TV could be very similar to Realme TV but might have extra features.
Oppo is seemingly working on its televisions that might be released in China initially. Of all the BBK Electronics companies, only Oppo and Vivo are the ones that have stayed away from the home entertainment market so far while OnePlus and Realme both are flourishing thanks to their smart televisions. That might change, at least, for Oppo who is planning not just one or two but as many as 20 television models, if new certifications are to be believed.
China's 3C and Bluetooth SIG certification websites now have some instances that confirm Oppo's televisions are in the works. There are two sizes spotted in the listings - 55-inch and 65-inch - and both these models have 10 models each under them. The listings were spotted by MyDrivers but its report did not specify anything else apart from model numbers and that the manufacturer for the panels is TPV Display Technology (Xiamen). This company manufactures TVs for brands such as Philips, AOC, and Envision.
We do not know what these televisions will look like or what features they will have. For what is worth, the Bluetooth SIG certification (via MySmartPrice) shows two remote control models that will be for the two smart televisions. The remote control also does not have a look yet that is publicly out that can be used to hint at the upcoming features.
If I were to take a wild guess, the Realme TV might be the source of inspiration for the Oppo TV. This should mean that the Oppo TV could come running Android TV and have preloaded apps such as Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video. There are chances Oppo could borrow some elements of OnePlus TV for its television but that seems most unlikely since OnePlus and Oppo products do not have as many similarities as Realme and Oppo ones do. The Realme TV has not been launched in the two sizes that Oppo TV is expected to have, although Realme will release a 55-inch model later this year.
Oppo TV could also feature an HDR panel, much like Realme TV but I guess there would be Dolby Vision on them, just to account for the distinction they might have. We might also be looking at 4K panels on the Oppo TV that Realme TV lacks currently. All in all, I am assuming Oppo TV to be significantly better than Realme TV but have the design language pretty much the same.
