PUBG India has put up yet another job posting on social platform LinkedIn for professionals, and this one seems to be quite an important position in the company. The Seoul-based game developer is looking for a Product Manager in the country.
As per the listing, the company is looking for candidates having 3 to 5 years of gaming product management experience. The company wants candidates who can help it develop localized features, lead its analytics efforts and assess the market and competition.
The job listing is a blaring response to the question - whether PUBG will be back in India or not. It makes it evident that the company is still looking to grow its operations in the country and is building a team to do the same as soon as it escapes the ban put up by the Indian government.
As for the eligibility criteria, the job requires candidates with Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, Economy or Business from a top tier school. It also looks for those experienced in UI/ UX design concepts, project management, analytical skills and regular players of Mobile, Console or PC games.
The job will require the candidate to work out of the company's India headquarters in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The responsibilities will include developing the full feature lifecycle, that is, from writing specifications to analyzing key performance metrics and driving business results.
The Product Manager will have to work closely with Product Data Analysts to gain customer insights, monitor game performance and develop or improve features. The candidate will then be asked to present the results to various stakeholders.
Note that the role of Product Manager will not be limited to the battle royale game PUBG. Instead, the applicant will have to work to introduce new features within the company's "existing and new games."
The part will also require the person to fine-tune the product, understand the user problems and basically improve the game or games to the best it can be.
Note that this is not the first job posting by PUBG India, but it is certain that one of the most important positions. As of now, such job listings by the company range from that of Associate Director to Investment & Strategy Analyst, Product Analyst, Senior Marketing Manager and more, all based out of Bengaluru, India.
It is, hence, clear to see that PUBG India is not getting its hopes down by the country's law banning its operations. It is still optimistic that the ban will be lifted, and it will be able to re-enter the market, this time prepared with even more resources than before.
