PUBG Mobile is coming back to India in a new avatar. Called the PUBG Mobile India, the battle royale game has been designed keeping India in mind. PUBG Corporation, the parent company of the game, announced the launch of PUBG Mobile India but it did not mention an exact date. Now, a new development has emerged that strongly points to an imminent launch. PUBG Mobile India pre-registrations for Android and iOS have now opened for select users who are a part of Tap Tap game sharing community.
Tap Tap has now listed PUBG Mobile India with pre-registrations for its community members. The pre-registrations are open for both Android and iOS platforms, which means that PUBG Mobile India will soon be available for registration for everyone on both Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. At the time of writing, PUBG Mobile India was not listed on Android and iOS app stores but that might change soon.
PUBG Mobile India is getting a huge response from the gamer community registered on Tap Tap. At the time of writing, the latest version of PUBG Mobile game received over 1 lakh pre-registrations. The description for this pre-registration listing also reveals the Facebook and YouTube pages for PUBG Mobile India are now live. In fact, the Facebook and Instagram pages of PUBG Mobile India have posted teasers of the game, saying it is "coming soon." The Tap Tap listing also mentions the game will be available in both English and Hindi language but I am not sure about that.
PUBG Corporation has made several changes to its PUBG Mobile that it snatched back from Tencent Games after the ban was imposed in India. The latest counterpart for PUBG Mobile brings Indian elements, according to the company, including fully-clothed characters when the match starts, green liquid instead of red blood, and simulation training ground. But these changes are the same as the ones that PUBG Corporation made to the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile called Game for Peace.
The company also forked a deal with Microsoft to store data of Indian gamers on Azure Cloud servers located in India. PUBG Corporation had stressed on the security of user data, including regular audits and verifications on these storage systems. The company is also investing $100 million into India to erect its Indian subsidiary and cultivate esports in the country. PUBG Corporation also announced that the Indian subsidiary will organise several esports tournaments with big prize pools from time to time to give a boost to the Indian gamer community.
