Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition earbuds go on first sale today. The new earbuds are essentially the Buds Air Pro in a new colour, meaning the features of these earbuds are the same as those the latter comes with. The design of the Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition is inspired by the space capsule and sci-fi, and designed by the famous French designer Jose Levy, who previously worked with Realme for the design of Buds Q earbuds. The earbuds come in a metallic grey colour with a shiny finish.

Realme has a history of launching special variants of its products. It has in the past launched various editions that symbolise a festival or some other facet, and these products have mostly been available in China. On the contrary, this might be the first time the Indian market is getting such a product in the form of the Buds Air Pro Master Edition. Since the Buds Air Pro Master Edition is the Buds Air Pro in a new avatar, I have a good idea of how good these earbuds are. I reviewed the Buds Air Pro months ago and found them impressive enough, but before that let us just get sale and price details out of our way.

Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition price in India

The Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition cost Rs 4,999, which is the same price as that of the regular Buds Air Pro. However, the Buds Air Pro earbuds have been available for Rs 500 in various sales, so it is up to you if you want to spend Rs 500 extra on the razzmatazz of the Master Edition because otherwise, you would pay only Rs 4,499 for the same pair of earbuds, just in different colours of black and white. The sale begins at noon today on Flipkart and Realme online store. There are some offers that you can check out before making the purchase.

Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition specifications and review synopsis

The Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition brings active noise cancellation on board for less than Rs 5,000. Frankly, I had hoped that the Master Edition would at least bring wireless charging to the Pro range but that, sadly, did not happen. The new TWS earbuds carry a 10mm bass boost driver for a decent audio quality, but I felt it could have been better. For me, the audio was a little more than average and that is because the Oppo Enco W51 earbuds spoilt me for good.

I wrote: "The Realme Buds Air Pro is supposed to be better in terms of sound quality than the Buds Air that launched last year. But that is not the case. It trails behind that benchmark. Maybe the company went for active noise cancellation at the expense of that sound quality but even if it is true, the sound quality is not bad. When comparing it seems a little underpowered, but, individually, it is decent."

There is dual-mic noise cancellation for a call, along with instant auto-connect & Google fast pair using Bluetooth v5.0. There is a charging case with a 486mAh battery that is rated to deliver a total battery life of 25 hours. But when you turn the ANC on, the battery life comes down to 20 hours. But that should not be an issue because the Buds Air Pro can go about for 3 hours with a 10-minute charge.

The active noise cancellation works well on these earbuds. "When ANC is turned on, you will not hear the hums from your surroundings, that buzzy noise of your room fan, and even the sound of your TV. But distinct sounds like a car horn will be discreetly audible," I said in my review. And for people who are looking to buy this pair of earbuds for gaming, Realme is offering the gaming mode with 94ms Super Low Latency that is triggered when you long-press an earbud. Each earbud is 5 grams heavy but the total case weighs around 48.8 grams.

I think if you like the design of the Buds Air Pro Master Edition, spending Rs 4,999 should not be an issue but if you are going for an overall package and the design is not so important, I would recommend buying the Oppo Enco W51 earbuds.
