Realme C17 is reportedly headed to India. The C17 is at the top tier in the company's C-series that launched in Bangladesh a few weeks back. The C17 is an important upgrade over the C15 because it brings a 90Hz display to the series, alongside a Qualcomm processor. The entire range of C-series that was refreshed this year with MediaTek processors, although the company might be planning to bring Qualcomm Edition for these smartphones in India. Anyway, the C17 comes with that processor out of the box.
The development was reported by tipster Mukul Sharma on Twitter. According to him, the Realme C17 could launch in India after Diwali, sometime towards the end of November or early December. An exact timeline is not clear though. Realme could be planning to launch more smartphones at that time, including the Qualcomm Edition of C15, C12, and C11. But nothing is set in stone as of now.
Realme C17 was launched in Bangladesh for a price of BDT 15,990, which is approximately Rs 13,900 in India. It looks sensible for Realme to launch the C17 for this price in India since the C15 costs Rs 9,999 for the base variant. Realme is yet to confirm this development.
For its specifications, the Realme C17 comes with a 6.5-inch 720p display with the 90Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is becoming more and more important on smartphones and Realme is ensuring it reaches the mass with its affordable phones. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card of up to 256GB. The smartphone runs Android 10-based Realme UI.
For photography, the Realme C17 brings a 13-megapixel main camera along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-megapixel black-and-white camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is also an LED flash to assist these cameras in low light, along with the Super Nightscape mode. For selfies, you get an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The Realme C17 has a fingerprint sensor at the back. The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery that charges at up to 18W. You get a USB-C port on the device along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
