- Realme C3 and C2 prices have been hiked again.
- The price hike is of Rs 500 to all the variants.
- Realme has not made any official announcements although.
Realme is resorting to a price hike for some of its smartphones to cope up with the disruptions caused to the supply chain by the covid-19 pandemic. The Realme C3 and Realme C2 budget smartphones have become costlier for the second time in India. While the last price hike was introduced to adjust the new GST regime, which went up to 18 per cent from 12 per cent earlier, the latest increase of Rs 500 in the pricing of Realme C3 and Realme C2 is what will allow the company to weather the shortage of supply of units.
The Realme C3 is now listed at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant while the 4GB/64GB variant now costs Rs 8,999. Previously, the base storage model was priced at Rs 7,499 while the top model cost Rs 8,499 after the addition of the latest GST on smartphones. But before the GST was not revised, the Realme C3 was originally launched at Rs 6,999 for the base model and Rs 7,999 for the top model. The Realme C2 2GB/32GB variant, priced at Rs 6,499 earlier, is now available for Rs 6,999 in India. The new pricing has begun reflecting on Flipkart and realme.com.
Realme has not made an official announcement about the price revision, but it has confirmed that the price hike was done to help the company sustain its business. The covid-19 pandemic caused a nation-wide lockdown, which is currently underway in its fourth phase, impacting the manufacturing and supply chain of smartphones adversely. The manufacturing and sales of smartphones have now resumed but not in full swing.
The Realme C3 was launched in February as the company's budget smartphone that is the sequel of the Realme C2. It has a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G70 processor coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It runs Realme UI that is based on Android 10 and supports dark mode. Realme C3 has two cameras at the back - one with a 12-megapixel f/1.8 sensor and another with a 2-megapixel f/2.4 sensor. The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash. For selfies, you get a 5-megapixel camera on the front with features such as AI Beauty. Realme has a 5000mAh battery that charges at up 10W.
