- Realme C3, C3s likely to launch in India tomorrow: What to expect?
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has begun teasing a new smartphone that will join the company's budget C series. The company is preparing to launch the successor of last year's Realme C2, called the Realme C3. Realme C3 has been doing the rounds on the internet in the form of leaks, including the device's certification in different countries. Besides, Realme could also launch an even cheaper variant called the Realme C3s alongside.
On his Twitter feed, Sheth said that Realme's C series now has 10.2 million users across the globe and that it has been highly successful in disrupting the entry-level segment. He added that Realme will bring more to the C series tomorrow, which means Thursday, January 30. While the teaser by Sheth tells us the timeline for the launch of Realme C3, its specifications and pricing remain unknown.
Realme C3 was spotted recently on the certification website of Singapore with a model number RMX1941. The listing on the website does not spill the beans on what the smartphone is going to pack inside. The looks of the Realme C3 are also not available.
Separately, Realme is also allegedly planning to launch another device in the C series. Realme has got a device with model number RMX2020 certified in Thailand and the US. It is being speculated that this device could be Realme C3s. A little information is available for the Realme C3s, unlike the Realme C3. The smartphone is said to come with a fingerprint sensor at the back and could have more than one rear camera. Realme C3s is expected to come with Android 10 with the company's own skin on top. There will be standard connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE and the 2.4GHz band for Wi-Fi connections.
Anyway, both smartphones will fall under the entry-level segment that starts at around Rs 5,000 in India. Entry-level or budget smartphones have shown steady growth over the years, as indicated in quarterly surveys from IDC. The category also sees brands such as Xiaomi, Samsung, and Nokia. Interestingly, HMD Global is reported to launch the successor in the Nokia 1 series. Samsung is also likely to expand its Galaxy M series this year, given the series has returned positive response.
