  • Realme GT 5G launching on March 4.
  • Realme GT 5G will be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset.
  • The smartphone will feature a 64-megapixel triple camera setup.

Realme GT 5G will be the company's all-new smartphone that's set to launch next week. The company is looking to expand further and strengthen its portfolio with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 powered device. Just a reminder, the brand was the first to confirm the existence of a Snapdragon 888 smartphone post-Qualcomm's announcement.

The brand is also targeting the midrange flagship market, which has devices like the OnePls Nord, Pixel 4a, Samsung Galaxy M51, Mi 10i and more. Even Realme has a decent portfolio of midrange flagships, including Realme X2 Pro, Realme X3 Surperzoom, Realme X50 Pro, and the recently launched Realme X7 Pro.

Several leaks and rumours have popped up since then to help us with Realme's upcoming device dubbed Realme GT. This device has already been previewed at the ongoing MWC 2021 Shanghai. Also, we know about the launch date and other specs of the device. Keeping that in mind, we decided to stack everything we know about the device ahead of the March 4th launch.

Realme GT 5G specs and features

--The Realme GT 5G previously surfaced as the "Realme Race", which is the same device's codename. GT here refers to Grand Tourers, through which the brand wants to tell that this will be an extremely powerful and fast device.

--Realme's CEO, Madhav Seth, a week back on Twitter, confirmed the Realme GT 5G launch date. The smartphone is confirmed to make its way on March 4.

--Besides this, the standard Realme GT variant, there's another special leather Bumblebee Realme GT 5G version, too, Realme VP Chase Xu revealed. Further, Xu detailed a few more things where he confirmed that the Realme GT would feature a 120Hz AMOLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

--Apart from this, he also mentioned that the smartphone will ship with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1, which is the best in the business right now.

--We also know that the device will get a USB Type C port and the much needed 3.5mm jack through a teaser image released by Realme.

Realme GT glass and BumbleBee edition

--As mentioned before, the design of this smartphone takes inspiration from GT sports cars. The Realme GT 5G previewed at MWC 2021 gets a dual-tone vegan leather finish. It can be seen in a typical bright yellow colour which Realme uses for branding. Also, a glossy black strip can be seen on the rear of the display, representing a racing track.

--Realme said that it used a one-piece moulding process for the back cover and the inner frame that allows the Vegan Leather to fit more tightly with the black glossy "race track" finish. In addition to that, the second generation of Vegan Leather is used on this device to give it a more delicate texture, softer touch feeling, and better colour effect.

--The Realme GT 5G will be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is based on a 5nm process. Further, it will be coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. We believe there are other storage variants, RAM and storage variants too.

--Interestingly, the smartphone will be cooled through a vapour chamber cooling system. The cooling system is expected to improve heat dissipation which in turn should allow for better gaming performance.

--In terms of optics, the Realme GT 5G will get a triple camera setup which should include a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an ultrawide sensor and finally, a depth or macro camera, the specs of which are currently unknown.

--Finally, the Realme GT is expected to ship with a 5000mAh battery with support for 65W or 125W wired fast charging. It will be running Realme UI 2.0 on top of top Android 11 whenever it ships.
