- Realme X50 Pro 5G is soon getting the Android 11 Preview, the company has announced.
- The Realme X50 Pro 5G got the Android 11 Beta back in July.
- Only 100 people will be chosen for the Android 11 Preview update.
Realme is starting testing Android 11 Preview on its devices starting with the X50 Pro 5G. The first announcement was made back when Google released the Android 11 Beta for devices. Realme is a part of Project Treble that ensures OEMs to test the latest Android software on their smartphones shortly after it is made available for Pixel smartphones. In July, the X50 Pro 5G got the Android 11 Beta update and the Android 11 Preview is now rolling out.
The Android 11 Preview will, however, be available to 100 testers initially. So if you want to become one of the testers, you might have to hurry up since there are limited slots. The registrations are starting September 8 via the X50 Pro 5G handset. It is an early build of the Android 11 software, which means there are going to be bugs and some half-baked features, so be informed before you decide to update your device.
You also have to fulfil some eligibility criteria before you can download the software. Realme has mentioned them on its forum, including an important update that needs to be installed beforehand. Your X50 Pro 5G should be running RMX2076PU_11.A.35 update. After that, you need to enrol yourself to receive trial versions of the software. You will be required to furnish some details and apply.
After the update is installed, there will be some third-party apps that might not behave properly or crash repeatedly. But this is something that is certain with preview builds and you know about them when you sign up. Moreover, there are chances you might lose some data so back it up beforehand.
Realme has said there are going to be only 100 people who will be chosen for the Android 11 Preview testing. So if you do not get selected, it means you are not one of those 100 people. But Realme will definitely roll the Android 11 Preview later for everyone. The stable versions of Android 11 are expected to roll out later this year, which is also when Realme will release the stable build for X50 Pro 5G.
Realme's Madhav Sheth is teasing an upgrade over the Realme UI might be coming soon. It could be called Realme UI 2.0 but I am not sure what features it will have.
