- Realme Narzo 20 is getting Android 11 days after the Narzo 30 series debuted.
- The new update brings Realme UI 2.0 to last year's Narzo 20.
- Realme said it is going to be a staged rollout for the phone.
Realme Narzo 20 is finally receiving the stable version of Realme UI 2.0. Starting today, the marquee model from last year's Narzo 20 series, the Narzo 20 will start getting Android 11 that brings features such as chat bubble notification, a rich power menu, tighter privacy, and, of course, an enhanced dark mode. The Realme UI 2.0 for the Narzo 20 has been in the beta programme for a while and after the company is done ironing out possible issues, it has started the stable rollout. Realme said the Realme UI 2.0 rollout for Narzo 20 will take place in a staged manner, which means some users will get the new software before others.
In a forum post, Realme announced that the staged rollout is being carried out to ensure the stability of this update. The company said that Realme UI 2.0 update will be "randomly" pushed to a limited number of users today, followed by a wider rollout in a few days. The broader rollout, the company said, depends on the condition where users do not face any issues with the new software. "If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days," Realme said in the post. And while the company hopes no critical bugs will crop up, it has listed some common issues that the Narzo 20 units might face with the update.
The Realme Narzo 20 unit may take a longer than usual time while booting for the first time after the update is installed, especially if the phone has a lot of third-party apps installed. After the upgrade process is complete, the phone will perform several tasks to ensure operation efficiency, including application adaptation, background optimization and security scanning. And during this process, the phone will consume more power and RAM capacity leading to the heating and "slight hanging" of the phone. Realme recommends leaving the phone for five hours after the phone is fully charged or using it for three days normally before the device gets back to normal.
How to update the Realme Narzo 20 to Realme UI 2.0?
-- Go to your phone's settings and then navigate to Software update.
-- If your unit is one of the randomly chosen ones, you will see the update waiting to be downloaded. The update is named RMX2193_11.C.06 and you need to be on the RMX2193_11.A.25 version to be able to receive this.
-- Hit the Download button. You are advised to use a Wi-Fi network for downloading.
-- Now install the update. This will reboot your phone into recovery mode where the installation process will take place. The phone might restart more than once.
