Highlights

  • Realme Narzo 30 Pro is touted as the cheapest 5G smartphone in India.
  • The Narzo 30A comes with a powerful 6000mAh battery inside.
  • Realme has also launched Buds Air 2 and Motion Activated Night Lights.

Realme has launched two new smartphones in India, the Narzo 30 Pro and the Narzo 30A. The Narzo 30 Pro, interestingly, has emerged as the cheapest 5G phone in India. It costs less than the Realme X7 and Xiaomi Mi 10i, both of which are impressive phones with 5G that have enjoyed the tag of being affordable for some time. Realme is throwing in a lot of weight behind 5G capability, which is why it has cut down one important feature that the predecessor Narzo 20 Pro was known for. The Narzo 30 Pro does not feature 65W fast charging. There is a more affordable Narzo 30A in the line but it is a simple 4G phone but with a powerful 6000mAh battery.

At the launch event, Realme also announced its new Buds Air 2 truly wireless earbuds that come as the successor to the original Buds Air. Realme Buds Air, launched in 2019, was a defining product for Realme as it entered the personal audio market. Over a span of two years, Realme has a good portfolio of audio products and Buds Air 2 earbuds are the latest addition. Realme has also launched a motion-detector night light, called Motion Activated Night Light. These lights will turn on automatically when they detect motion, suitable to be used on a staircase where light is required around your feet to reduce the risk of you tripping over.

Realme Narzo 30 Pro, Narzo 30A specifications

The biggest highlights for the Narzo 30 Pro are the 5G connectivity and the 120Hz screen. For 5G, the Narzo 30 Pro uses an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor that also powers the Realme X7 5G. This processor is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with support for a microSD card. Realme claims the phone supports both NSA and SA modes on the 5G network on both the sim cards using the DSDS technology. Realme Narzo 30 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch LCD with 1080p resolution, 405 PPI pixel density, and a peak brightness of 600 nits, which is impressive for sunlight legibility, at least on paper. And then you have the 120Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate.

Realme has given three cameras on the back of the Narzo 30 Pro. There is a 48MP main sensor with an F1.8 aperture and PDA, an 8MP ultrawide sensor with an F2.3 aperture and 119-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro sensor with an F2.4 aperture with a shooting distance of 4cm. Realme has thrown in a mix of camera features such as Ultra 48MP Mode, Super Nightscape Mode, Night Filters, Chroma Boost, Panoramic View, Expert, Timelapse, HDR, Ultra Wide, Ultra Macro, AI Scene Recognition, and AI Beauty among others. For selfies, the Narzo 30 Pro has a 16MP camera inside the punch-hole setup. This camera supports HDR, Nightscape mode, and AI Portrait mode among others.

Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery that comes with 30W Dart fast charging technology. It is a big downgrade from the 65W fast charging that the predecessor Narzo 20 Pro features. Realme claims the battery can charge in 65 minutes with the bundled charger using the USB-C port. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Narzo 30 Pro. The phone comes with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio technologies that are meant to improve the gaming and viewing experience. It runs Android 10 with Realme UI skin on top.

Realme Narzo 30A

Coming to the Narzo 30A, the phone comes with a 6.5-inch 720p LCD with a regular 60Hz refresh rate and a screen-to-body ratio of 88.7 per cent. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 256GB. The phone runs Android 10-based Realme UI and supports 4G networks on two SIM card slots. It has a 13MP main camera on the back accompanied by a black-and-white sensor while for selfies, you have an 8MP camera inside the notch. The phone's biggest highlight is the 6000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and can also be used to reverse charge other devices through a USB-C port. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.
