Realme is gradually going beyond the smartphones with the planned launch of products such as fitness bands, smartwatches, smart speakers, and more. The fitness band from Realme, called the Realme Band, was recently launched in India. Now, it seems the brand is preparing for the debut of its first smartwatch. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth was seen flaunting a smartwatch in his latest episode of #AskMadhav on YouTube, in which he also confirmed a launch soon. This could be the upcoming Realme Watch in the brand's kitty.
The Realme Watch has a square design for the dial with rounded edges. It looks somewhat similar to Fitbit Versa and has a black strap. The smartwatch could have more than one variants, with different display sizes. The straps on the smartwatch could also be interchangeable. Apart from this information, there is nothing available at the moment. We do not know what processor will power the smartwatch and if Realme will use a tweaked version of Realme UI on it. Realme could also go for Wear OS by Google to allow more features and Google Play store on the smartwatch.
Recently, Oppo debuted its first smartwatch with ColorOS. It has the calling and SMS support via an eSIM card. While Realme will expectedly target a much lower price segment than what Oppo Watch belongs to, it could come with similar features without the eSIM facility. It will come with support for the Realme Link app that is the one-stop solution for all Realme accessories, including the Realme Buds Air and Realme Band.
Talking separately about the Realme Band, Sheth said that the fitness band will soon receive an update that will bring music playback controls and more watch faces. Realme Band was launched in India for a price of Rs 1,499 earlier this month alongside the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones. It has a colour display with single-point touch control and supports up to nine activity modes such as swimming, cricket, and cycling among others. It has a heart rate monitor and a steps counter built-in.
