Realme Watch S has officially launched months after its bigger and more advanced variant was teased at the IFA 2020 in Berlin. While that bigger model, called the Watch S Pro is not official yet, Realme is introducing the Watch S in Pakistan today. The new Watch S is a big upgrade over the company's first smartwatch called the Realme Watch. The Watch S brings a circular design, a faster processor, and a light-sensitive display that can change brightness automatically.
Realme Watch S Price, Availability
The Realme Watch S is priced at PKR 14,999, which translates to roughly Rs 7,000 in India. It will be available to purchase in the market starting November 14. The company has not said when it will bring it to other markets but the company's India boss Madhav Sheth recently confirmed that both Watch S and Watch S Pro will arrive in India. Later, a media report suggested that the launch might take place in November.
Realme Watch S Specifications
The Realme Watch S has a 1.3-inch auto-brightness display with a resolution of 360x360 pixels. The display uses a photosensitive sensor to adjust the brightness according to the light available in the surroundings. It is round in shape, contrary to the squarish design that was seen on the Realme Watch. This screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. The Realme Watch S has 12 watch faces onboard, but the company said it will add more of them, about 100, later.
Realme's latest smartwatch does not run on Wear OS but a proprietary software, but it is an improvement over what the original Realme Watch comes with. The circular design of the Realme Watch S consists of a ring made of aluminium alloy with two buttons on the right. The straps are made of what the company calls Liquid Silicone. It comes in Blue, Orange, Green, and Black colours. One of them will ship with the smartwatch while buying but the rest of them will need to be purchased separately.
In terms of health and fitness-related features, the Realme Watch S brings a PPG heart rate monitor and a SpO2 blood-oxygen-level monitor. The data collected by these sensors can be logged in to the Realme Link app that is available on Android and will be needed to pair the watch with an Android phone. The Realme Watch S also has 16 Sports Modes, including the new Stationary Bike and Rowing Machine. The smartwatch also comes with sleep tracking monitor.
For more productivity, the Realme Watch S comes with a call rejection feature, smart notifications for select apps, and controls for music and camera apps on the phone. Realme Watch S comes with an IP68 rating with water resistance up to 1.5 metres. But Realme says that the smartwatch is not suitable for wearing under the shower or when swimming. There is a 390mAh battery inside the smartwatch that is rated to deliver 15 days of life. The watch charges via a POGO pin charger that comes bundled in the box.
