- The Redmi K30 Pro has been teased with support for 5G networks.
- Redmi K30 Pro won't have any punch-hole cutout for the front cameras.
- Xiaomi might also use an OLED panel on the K30 Pro similar to the Mi 10.
It's raining flagship phones around and this year's common design theme is the inclusion of a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. Everyone is doing this design- Samsung has gone ahead with it on the S20 series, Xiaomi, Realme, Poco and iQOO have done the same with their premium offerings. However, Redmi still thinks that you don't have to settle for a hole in the display if you are spending a premium on its phones. Hence, it has teased the Redmi K30 Pro for the first time in an official poster.
Redmi has shared an official teaser in China that confirms the Redmi K30 Pro moniker as well as a few design choices Redmi is making for its flagship offering. The K30 Pro will be a 5G phone similar to the regular Redmi K30 but unlike the K30, Redmi will give it a premium touch. The Redmi K30 had a wide cutout in the display for the front cameras but on the K30 Pro, you won't have to tolerate any disturbance inside the display.
The teaser suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G will have a bezel-less display with no notch or cutout for the front camera. Instead, Redmi might rely on the good-old pop-up mechanism for achieving the fullscreen display. The earpiece sits in the top bezel and it's quite small in size. The phone also appears to have a regular-sized power button and volume adjustment buttons. The phone will have a metal frame as is evident from the antenna bands on the top. The power button also seems to be coloured.
Leaks have suggested that the Redmi K30 Pro will be the flagship offering from Redmi this year and as a result, it will use the Snapdragon 865 chipset and will support 5G networks out of the box. However, you can expect Redmi to do a 4G variant to keep prices low in markets where 5G is not available. Similar to the Redmi K20 Pro, the Redmi K30 Pro is also expected to use an AMOLED display but this time, Xiaomi might offer a refresh rate of 90Hz for better user experience.
Other leaks and rumours suggest we can see the same 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 camera from the Redmi K30 but it will be assisted by a better quality ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera with optical zoom. The K30 Pro could also come with 33W fast wired charging.
