Redmi already made a lot of buzz in the smartphone industry with its Note 10 lineup. But they are not done yet, and the brand is all set to launch a new Note 10 device in India. This smartphone called Redmi Note 10s will make way on May 13 in India. Redmi has also created a microsite for the Redmi Note 10S, which details all the key features. The device is being touted as Performance and camera-centric.
The Redmi Note 10S is supposed to sit right between the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro. This mid-range device will be powered by Mediatek's Helio G95 SoC, a 6.43 inch AMOLED display, a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup and a 5000mAh battery.
Redmi has detailed all the specs on its website ahead of the May 13 launch. Keeping that in mind, we decided to stack everything we know so far about the upcoming Redmi Note 10S.
Redmi Note 10S specs and features
--A couple of days ago, Redmi went out on Twitter to reveal the launch date of the Redmi Note 10S. Since then, the brand has been continuously teasing the smartphone on its social media handles. The micro-site created for the website also has a buy now option, which redirects to the AliExpress website. A seller named Hong Kong Goldway is already selling the product. However, the device cannot be shipped to India due to the ban imposed by the Indian government.
--The listing also reveals the box contents in a video, including the Redmi Note 10S. We can see that the box mentions NFC, which is a clear hint that this device will get this feature. Below is a snap from the video.
--The Redmi Note 10S follows the same design language as seen on the Redmi Note 10 series. It will be available in three colour options - Onyx Gray, Pebble White and Ocean Blue.
--As far as the specs of the Redmi Note 10S are concerned, the smartphone features a 6.43 inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1100 nits. The display has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.
--Further, the smartphone is powered by Mediatek's Helio G95 SoC, unlike the other Redmi Note 10 models, which feature Snapdragon chipsets. It is an octa-core processor clocked at 2.05 GHz and coupled with Arm Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. This is coupled with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
--In the camera department, the Redmi Note 10S features a quad camera setup on the rear consisting of a 64-megapixel primary shooter, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor and another 2-megapixel macro sensor. Whereas on the front, it gets a 13-megapixel camera for selfies. The rear camera can shoot 4K 30fps videos, while the front camera can shoot videos up to 1080 30fps.
--This smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W charging. Additionally, it gets a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner for authentication.
--In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Note 10S brings support for Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone will run Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top.
--The Redmi Note 10S is quite similar to the Redmi Note 10. The only noticeable difference is in terms of storage, cameras and the processor. Now that the Redmi Note 10S has better specs on paper, it will be interesting to find out if it is any better than the Redmi Note 10.
