- Just days after it launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi is set to launch one more product.
- The company is teasing that this new product will be launched on March 16.
- Chances are that this new product is likely to be a wireless charger or a power bank.
Just days after launching the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Xiaomi is planning to launch a new product on March 16, the company is teasing about its upcoming launch on social media and from the teaser it looks like that the product could be a wireless charger or a power bank.
In its latest video on Twitter, Xiaomi India has written, "No wires, no worries" with the video's animated caption that reads "sleek and wire-free."
Earlier, Xiaomi also posted a short video on Twitter with the hashtag "Cut the Cord". The post read that the product was "Coming on March 16". Xiaomi's official post read, "One less wire to deal to deal with. Mi fans, it's time to #CutTheCord. All the power you need without any hassle. Guess what this is."
The video which reads "cut the cord" has blinking lights and a charging sign. Going by the hashtag #CutTheCord, one can guess that the product to be launched is likely to be a power bank with wireless charging or a wireless charger.
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India chief also talks of cutting the cord, and making life less complicated -- that is how he puts it -- in one of his recent tweets.
Xiaomi is fairly an old hand by now at portable chargers. The company has launched a number of chargers, including a wireless charger. Last year, Xiaomi had unveiled 30W wireless charging system. It was named Mi Charge Turbo and it had ability to charge a phone with 4000 mAh battery from zero to hundred in roughly 70 minutes.
Then last week, Xiaomi showed a 40W wireless charger, which can charge a phone 100 per cent in just 40 minutes. This charger has not been launched yet. At the Xiaomi event it was shown in a video, in which Cheng Chang, a vice president at Xiaomi said that the wireless charger would have vertical air-cooler to keep its thermals in check.
A blog by Google9to5, however, stated that an actual device of this sort is unlikely to come in the market anytime soon.
But maybe 9to5 was off the mark. And it is this 40W wireless charger that Xiaomi is going to launch in India on March 16.
The launch of the new Xiaomi products comes just days after the launch of two new Redmi phones. Xiaomi on March 12 launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max phones. The price of the two phones starts from Rs 14,999. Both of them come with 6.67-inch high-resolution.
