Telecom giant Reliance has warned users about fake JioMart websites doing the rounds. The company posted a tweet on its social media handle informing users about fake websites that have been created with nefarious intentions to dupe people. JioMart is an online grocery shopping platform launched by Reliance with an aim to home deliver grocery items.
On Thursday, Reliance shared a caution note on their Twitter handle that read, "We would like to inform the public at large that we are not operating any dealership or franchisee model currently nor have we appointed any franchisee or any agent for appointing any dealer or franchisee in any manner whatsoever. Further, we do not charge any amount under the pretense of appointing a person as a franchisee."
"We have been informed about certain unscrupulous individuals who are creating fake websites, pretending to be us or associated with us, and duping innocent individuals under the pretense of granting franchisee of JIOMART services. The public, manufacturers, traders, and dealers are hereby cautioned against such unscrupulous individuals and their online fraud activities; and are hereby warned that we will not be responsible any business dealing with such dishonest individuals," the note read.
Reliance also shared the list of fake websites that are masquerading as JioMart. "Some the fake websites identified and reported by us are as follows: 1 jmartfranchise.in 6 2 jiodealership.com 7 3 jiomartfranchises.com 8 4 jiomartshop.info 9 5 jiomartreliance.com 10
jiomartfranchiseonline.com jiomartsfranchises.online jiomart-franchise.com jiomartindia.in.net jiomartfranchise.co." the company said in the notice.
The company also said that actions will be taken against the miscreants for creating fake websites to prevent the misuse of their brand name. Although Reliance has listed the names of most of the fake accounts, it says that a lot of fake websites are yet to be unidentified. They also urged the public to let their legal cell know about any other website that is using the name of JioMart other than the website itself.
JioMart offers all grocery and essential items at 5 percent below MRP. The products at JioMart are way cheaper than Amazon, Flipkart, and even Zomato and Swiggy, who are currently delivering groceries across the country. The Reliance-owned e-tailer also has plans to sell electronics items including mobiles and laptops on its website in the days to come.
