Sony is seeking out a new experience by making a drone for camera users. Drones are popular among professional video creators to capture cinematic shots. Sony certainly keeps a tab on the latest trends and now, wants to enter into the drone market. The imaging brand has given the name 'Airpeak' to its new venture.
First spotted by Sony Alpha Rumors, Sony announced a new project for drones in the field of Artificial Intelligence robotics. Sony Japan even shared the teaser of Airpeak on its official website. The company says the Airpeak brand will "reflect its aspiration to contribute to the further evolvement and the creation of the unprecedented value through its imaging and sensing technology."
For the video content creators, Sony says, "Airpeak will support the creativity of video creators to the fullest extent possible, aiming to contribute to the further development of the entertainment industry."
While Sony steps into the drone area, it will eventually face tough competition from DJI drones. DJI or Da-Jiang Innovations is a Chinese technology company which acquires the top position for manufacturing DJI Mavic series drones.

Sony will also continue to obtain feedback from drone users through co-creation activities to prepare for the launch. The new line of Sony Airpeak drones will be unveiled in the spring of 2021.
