Sony has its exclusive line of cinema cameras for filmmakers and content creators. The Japanese camera maker already had two professional cinema cameras: Sony VENICE introduced in 2017, and Sony FX9 in 2019. Now, the company has unveiled the third member of the cinema camera line-up. The new Sony cinema camera is a full-frame Sony FX6 which boasts 4K video recording capabilities.
Before we get into the details of tech specs of Sony FX6, the company claims, "As part of the Cinema Line, the all-new FX6 incorporates Sony's core technologies of image sensor, processing engine, and AF (autofocus) performance. FX6 is also compatible with the wide range of Sony E-mount lenses for creative flexibility."
Sony FX6: Tech specs

--The Sony FX6 boasts a 627-point fast hybrid AF system as found in the FX9 and Sony's Alpha mirrorless cameras. The camera includes advanced face detection and real-time Eye AF. The FX6 uses Sony's E-mount for attaching lenses, making it compatible with more than 50 native lenses.
--For the video capture, the FX6 camera can record 10-bit 4:2:2 4K footage at 120fps and 1080 footage at 240 fps. If you use the onboard 12G-SDI port, the FX6 can output 16-bit SDI Raw 4K at up to 60p video.

--As for the design and build, the FX6 is made of a magnesium alloy and is light in weight at around 890 grams. The FX6 is compact and features a 3.5-inch LCD viewfinder that can be attached to multiple locations on the body.
--The company notes, "The new camera includes a heat dissipating structure to keep the camera's components within their normal operating ranges to prevent overheating, even during extended recording times."
--The Sony FX6 comes with dual CFexpress Type A card slots, but is also compatible with SD UHS-II cards. But when recording over 100 fps, the camera will require the use of the faster CFExpress Type A cards.
