Apple's shipment of the iPhone 15 to its vast customer base might encounter delays due to ongoing supply challenges the company is currently addressing. These developments surfaced just a few weeks before Apple's upcoming event. While the iPhone 15 series' anticipated launch date is September 12, Apple has yet to officially confirm this date.

According to insights from an investor note by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, as reported by 9To5Mac, Apple's initial projection of delivering over 80 million iPhone 15 units this year has been adjusted to around 77 million units. This adjustment comes as a response to supply constraints primarily stemming from Sony's camera sensors, which are a crucial component of the phones.

If leaks are to be believed, the price of the standard iPhone 15 variant might be the same as the older version or Apple could increase it by $50 (around Rs 4,150). If the price remains the same, then the regular variant could cost Rs 79,900. While there is still some time to get clarity on this, we do know that Apple will slash the price of last year's iPhone 14 model, which is a general practice that the company follows every year after launching new phones.

The standard iPhone 15 models are rumored to sport 48-megapixel rear cameras, matching the capabilities of the iPhone 14 Pro models. This substantial improvement marks a significant leap from the 12-megapixel sensors found in previous iPhone models.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are tipped to be compatible with the widely-used USB-C charging standard. We could also see Apple's Dynamic Island feature on the regular models this year. They will likely use the company's A16 chipset under the hood.

The iPhone 15 is said to feature a 3,877mAh battery, surpassing the 3,279mAh unit found in the iPhone 14. Similarly, the iPhone 15 Plus is rumored to sport a larger 4,912mAh battery, a significant improvement from the 4,325mAh capacity of the iPhone 14 Plus.

While the display size of the iPhone 15 is expected to remain at 6.1 inches, similar to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, Apple may introduce a dynamic island notch on the standard model. It is highly anticipated that the iPhone 15 will be equipped with Apple's powerful A16 chipset, the same processor that powered last year's iPhone 14 Pro models. This follows Apple's trend from the previous year of offering lower-priced models with flagship-level performance.
