Elon Musk has reportedly slashed most of the perks that Twitter used to offer its employees. The company's new boss recently sacked more than Rs 60 per cent of workforce and announced that Twitter is now done with layoffs. But, it seems that Musk wants to make it hard for the remaining employees to stay back, considering he has already set high work demands and is now cutting perks as well.

According to an internal memo obtained by The Verge, the remaining Twitter employees now won't get important benefits, such as allowances for wellness as well as free home internet. The social media giant will also stop providing support for Outschool, daycare, quarterly team activities, and more.

While it is unknown why Musk is reducing most of the perks, the move is likely to cut spending cost. The company is expected to bring allowances in the near future after getting better results in terms of financial gains. "Allowances will be reevaluated over time and may be added back when the company's financial situation improves," it reads.

Twitter employees have also been asked to send an email update on their work on a weekly basis. They will be required to include the subject line structure: "Weekly Update, name, dept, and date."

The employees are expected to include project details in the email. The workers are supposed to submit relevant samples via email and the non-technical ones are required to share summaries of work. The employees are also expected to write down "what they have been trying to accomplish."

The memo ends with the statement, "Looking forward to making Twitter the highest-performing tech software company in the world." When the news got leaked online, Elon Musk said "Perhaps not unreasonable to know if anything was accomplished."
