Google is rolling out new privacy features and a new guest mode Google Assistant. The search giant has launched new privacy features because it was under the scanner in Europe due to privacy concerns. However, now the new features Google wants to alleviate people's concerns regarding privacy and security. An enhanced Safety Centre has also been launched by Google.
Out of all the new features that Google is rolling out, the Guest Mode for Gooogle Assistant has grabbed maximum attention. The new Guest Mode for Google Assistant will be available on home devices including the Nest Hub and Nest Audio. You can activate the Guest Mode simply by giving a quick voice command. When you activate the Guest Mode, your conversations or interactions with the Google Assistant will not be recorded or saved anywhere. Along with this, the personalization feature will also be disabled when the Guest Mode is activated.
"There are times you may not want your Assistant interactions saved to your Google Account. That's why in the coming weeks, we'll be introducing Guest modea new way to use your Google Assistant on home devices. With an easy voice command, you can turn on Guest mode, and your Assistant interactions while in this mode won't be saved to your account. You can turn off Guest mode at any time to get the full, personalized Google Assistant experience again. In addition, you always have the ability to go back and delete what you said to the Assistant just using your voice, and we've added even more answers to common questions about security and privacy that the Assistant will answer instantly. In fact, we answer more than 3 million privacy and security questions per month, globally," Google said in the blog.
Google saves all your interactions with the Assistant to your account. The record can be deleted .d by the user or Google can automatically delete 3, 18, or 36 months. However, none of this will happen if the Guest Mode is enabled. The feature will be rolled out to the smart speakers and smart displays in the coming weeks.
