Micromax may be preparing to launch new smartphones in India next month. A new tip claims that the Indian smartphone brand is working on new smartphones, which is in slight contrast with previous rumours that suggested there was going to be just one phone. For quite some time, rumours have also indicated that Micromax may launch its first 5G phone soon, but there is no update on that.
UPDATE: Micromax has confirmed that it will launch new smartphones soon and that the Android 11 update will begin being rolled out for the IN Note 1. "Android 11 update will soon be available for IN note 1 and we will also launch new smartphones soon," said Micromax in a reply to a Twitter user.
According to Hridesh Mishra, who goes by @HkMicromax on Twitter, the launch of the new smartphones will take place around December 15. He previously said the launch would happen in November, but he attributes the delay to the issue of component supply. Micromax has not said anything yet. Neither has it begun teasing the launch of its upcoming phone yet, so we will have to wait for the announcement.
Although Mishra's tweet does not give away anything about the upcoming Micromax phones, a previous rumour hinted at the Pro variant of the Micromax IN Note 1. A phone with model number E7748_64 was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Tipster Mukul Sharma also previously said the IN Note 1 Pro would arrive in September but that did not happen. That is why I would suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt.
The speculation is that the IN Note 1 Pro may bring improved specifications over last year's model. However, nothing is concrete about whether or not there will be 5G connectivity on this upcoming phone. Micromax IN Note 1 may still use a MediaTek Helio processor if we go by previous rumours, but since there has been no update on the phone for a long time now, we cannot entirely rely on them - until Micromax's confirmation.
For what it is worth, the Micromax IN Note 1 Pro may come with four cameras on the back, a large LCD with a punch-hole setup and a high refresh rate. The phone could pack a 5000mAh battery or a battery with more capacity, along with support for fast charging through a USB-C port. The phone may, however, still ship with Android 10, according to previous rumours, and that is absurd. Android 12 is already available on some phones and the rollout is expected to catch up by the end of this year and early 2022. If not Android 12, at least Android 11 would make sense for the next Micromax phone to come with.
