Nokia 110 4G is the latest feature phone from HMD Global that brings HD voice calling to a very affordable handset. This phone was originally launched in Europe back in June. The feature phone market is swelling despite an aggressive push in the smartphone market, and that is something HMD wants to capitalise on, especially when its smartphone portfolio is struggling to make it to the top five brands. The Nokia 110 4G's biggest selling point is the support for 4G, which means all major carriers are going to support this phone. But the biggest advantage to customers will be the crystal-clear voice on calls.
HMD's Nokia feature phones have always tried to cash in on the nostalgia, but seldom have they managed to achieve that. The Nokia 110 4G brings features such as wireless FM radio and 3-in-1 speakers, and the company wants to entice customers through them. The biggest rival to Nokia's 4G feature phones is the JioPhone, an uber-cheap feature phone tied to the Jio network of Reliance Jio. Talking from a larger perspective, the share of 4G feature phones in the entire feature phone market is small, and rightly so. According to Counterpoint Research, customers buying feature phones care more about features such as battery life than 4G connectivity.
The Nokia 110 4G costs Rs 2,799 and it comes in Aqua, Black, and Yellow colours. The sale for the phone starts July 24 through Amazon and Nokia's online store.
The Nokia 110 4G comes with a 1.8-inch QVGA TFT non-touchscreen display that has a resolution of 120x160 pixels. The phone uses a Unisoc T1707 processor with 128MB of RAM and 48MB of internal memory. You can add a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity to expand the storage. The phone has 4G calling available, supported on all carriers. There is a 0.8MP QVGA camera on the back of the feature phone if you want to click photos using this phone. The Nokia 110 4G comes with a removable 1020mAh battery that is rated to deliver a standby time of 13 days, which is common for feature phones.
Nokia 110 4G runs Series 30+ software, which brings you the Snake game, an MP3 player, and a dictionary app called English with Oxford. The phone has 3-in-1 speakers, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a wireless FM radio feature available on the phone. HMD has also packed this phone with a readout feature that reads the text written on the phone's screen.
