In the last few days almost daily there is a leak or rumour related to a OnePlus Nord phone. India Today Tech can confirm that this phone is indeed coming soon. It will be called OnePlus Nord CE and it will be launched in India on June 10. At the same event, OnePlus will also launch a TV U variant.

Both the OnePlus Nord CE and the new TV are going to be a fresh push from OnePlus in more price-conscious markets. The Nord CE is likely to have a 6.4-inch screen, a 48-megapixel primary camera on the rear, at least 6GB RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series chipset.

Leaks suggest that the phone will have a display with a 90Hz refresh rate and FullHD resolution. It is likely to come with a 16-megapixel image sensor.

In an interaction with Indian tech journalists, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the Nord phones are a good way for consumers to get a great and fast smartphone experience at a more affordable price. "Our flagship phones (like OnePlus 9 Pro) will push the new boundaries while Nord series brings to users the fast and smooth experience that OnePlus offers," he said. "The Nord CE has all the core features that are characteristic of Nord series."

Details of the upcoming OnePlus TV U are scarce at the moment. But it will, like the previous U series TV, sit between the flagship Q series and the Y series.

In addition to these two products, OnePlus is also now confirming that it will in the coming months launch new TWS earphones.

At the same time, the company will in the coming months and years work to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities in India. The idea is Make-In-India for almost 100 per cent OnePlus products.

"OnePlus is very much ready to strengthen manufacturing investments in India and remains committed to the Make In India movement, building on its efforts from previous years," said Pete Lau. "The R&D team, especially, has deep roots in India and will remain an extremely important business pillar, moving forward. Moving forward, OnePlus aims to achieve 100 per cent or close to 100 per cent manufacturing in India for both smartphones and TVs."
