It might seem too good to be true for some, but it would be better if you believe it as soon as you can. Sony will restock the PlayStation 5 units for sale soon and begin the pre-orders for the same later this week. Like every time, though, they are likely to be sold out within minutes.
The information has been shared on the official Sony Center website, as first spotted by IGN India. The e-commerce store has put up a notification indicating the pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 due to start at 12 pm on May 27. This means interested buyers will be able to purchase the much-sought gaming console on the date and time.
The new round of pre-orders surprisingly begins just 10 days after the previous pre-orders by Sony. Sony says that it will start processing the orders placed on May 27 by June 7. This basically means that the gaming consoles will start shipping from June 7 onward.
Sony, however, clarifies that there might be delays due to the restricted movement of non-essential items at present. Those who find it easy to collect their units from the nearby Sony store can also do so.
Sony has put up a one-unit limit for each buyer and will not sell multiple units to a single customer. This means even those who have previously bought a PlayStation 5 on the website will not be allowed to purchase another unit this time.
As of now, the pre-orders have only been mentioned for the PlayStation 5 and not its Digital Edition. Users can still shop for accessories and games, though.
Since the demand for the PS5 far exceeds the supply, the sale is likely to be like the previous one, with stocks being sold out within seconds. Note that the Sony Center online store will require an ID for anyone to make a purchase. Hence, it is advised for the users to be prepared with the ID and keep all the detailed information filled in before the sale goes live on May 27.
