We have been hearing about the Poco F3 GT for quite some time now. The brand has already confirmed the launch to take place in Q3 in India. While we still don't have an exact launch date, the device will likely launch very soon. We say that because the device has been recently spotted in a couple of listings.
Poco F3 GT has been spotted in a TUV Rheinland certification listing. Besides this, it was also found listed in the US FCC certification with a few specifications. The smartphone is tipped to be a rebadged Redmi K40 Gaming Edition launched in China this April. Also, it has been confirmed to ship with Mediatek Dimensity 1200 SoC.
Now that the launch of the Poco F3 GT is on the cards, we decided to detail specs, features, price and everything known about this smartphone so far.
--The Poco F3 GT has been recently listed in a TUV Rheinland certification. A picture of the certification has been shared on Twitter, revealing a phone with model number M2012K10C/ M2012K10I. The last letter in the model number denotes the launch county, in this case, the "I" means India. The tipster also says that this model number belongs to Poco F3 GT and is very similar to the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition model number.
--The same device was also spotted on the US FCC listing with model number 21061110AG. As per the listing, Poco F3 FT will have support for WiFi 6 and NFC.
--Poco F3 GT is supposed to be a midrange gaming smartphone with similar specs to the Redmi K40 gaming. Director of Poco India, Anuj Sharma, shared a 30-second clip sometime back. The clip revealed that the Poco F3 GT would be powered by Mediatek's flagship Dimensity 1200 SoC. Further, the tweet talks about gaming triggers.
--As far as the specs are concerned, the Poco F3 GT is expected to feature a 6.67 inch FHD+ AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. It will be powered by Dimesity 1200 SoC, which is an octa-core chipset based on a 6nm manufacturing process. The chipset is tipped to be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
--In the camera department, the Poco F3 GT may feature a triple camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Whereas on the front, it is expected to hold a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies. We are guessing the front camera will be capable of shooting 4K 30fps videos, whereas the video capability on the front camera will be capped to 1080p 30fps.
--The device is expected to feature connectivity options like WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, NFC and an IR blaster. It could be powered by a 5065mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Not to miss, the device may ship with Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top.
The Poco F3 GT has been confirmed to launch in Q3 in India. Also, the smartphone has been recently spotted in a couple of listings hinting towards an imminent launch. While we cannot confirm the launch date, it could make way next month.
Poco F3 GT is hinted to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. It was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 1,999 (around Rs 22,800) for the 6GB/128GB configuration. Which scales up to CNY 2,699 (around Rs 30,800) for the top-model with 12GB/256GB variant.
In an exclusive conversation with India Today Tech, Anuj had confirmed that the pricing of POCO F3 GT would be kept close to the global pricing. Keeping that in mind, we predict the device to ship at a starting price of Rs 25000 in India.
