Poco is set to resume its product launches next week with the Poco M3 Pro 5G, after canceling all new products for May 2021 because of the Covid-19 situation. Already launched in global markets, the Poco M3 Pro 5G will be unveiled in India on June 8 and will be sold via e-commerce website Flipkart, the smartphone maker has confirmed. It will be Poco's first smartphone launch in almost two months. Flipkart has also launched a dedicated page for the device to confirm the same.
Poco has largely targeted the affordable category with its 'M' series while the ''X' and 'F' series smartphones are usually positioned in the mid-range segment. It is worth mentioning that the Poco M3 Pro 5G will be company's first 5G smartphone in the country.
The India pricing of Poco M3 Pro 5G will be known during the official launch. Globally, the smartphone was launched at EUR 149 (around Rs 14,200) for the 4GB RAM variant and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs EUR 179 (around Rs 16,000). The Indian pricing should be around the same mark. It will position the Poco M3 Pro 5G against Redmi Note 10 Pro and Realme 8 Pro, among other phones.
Most specifications of the Indian variant of Poco M3 Pro 5G are likely to be same as the global variant. However, the company is known to tweak the Indian units with new features. The smartphone is expected to come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It should be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip and comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The Poco M3 Pro 5G may be launched in India three colour options - Cool Blue, Power Black, and Poco Yellow.
The smartphone should feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front should house an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The Poco M3 Pro 5G is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, runs MIUI 12 based on Android 11, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
