- Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S21 series phones today.
- The Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the most expensive of the list.
- The Galaxy S21 Ultra could get a 4800mAh battery pack.
Samsung is all set to launch its latest flagship range, the Galaxy S21 series later today. The company is expected to launch three new phones under the series, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Of the three, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to be the most expensive and bring a more powerful spec sheet than the other two.
The phone is set for launch at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event which will only be available to fans to tune in via a live stream. Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event will kick off at 10 am EST (8:30 pm IST) today.
However, ahead of the launch complete details about the Galaxy S21 Ultra have leaked online, revealing all there is to know about the device. Coming courtesy of popular tipster, Evan Blass, the new leak reveals all there is to know about the device.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: What leaks have hinted so far
As per the latest leak, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be bigger than the other two Galaxy S21 phones and will bring with itself a 6.8-inch Infinity-O display with a 515ppi pixel density. Based on the leaks so far, we can assume that Samsung, much like 2020, will be launching three new devices with the Ultra being the super-premium phone out of the three.
This panel will support an adaptive refresh rate that can go as high as 120Hz. The panel is also tipped to be covered by a sheet of Gorilla Glass Victus for added protection. On paper, this appears to be a similar display to the one we saw on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra so we're not sure what -- if anything -- Samsung is bringing to the table in terms of innovation with the Galaxy S21 Ultra's display.
From the leaked renders, the display looks quite big. However, it also appears to make the phone look quite big and bulky to look at. This won't necessarily surprise because Samsung followed the same blueprint with the last Galaxy S Ultra flagship.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is being tipped to be powered by an Exynos 2100 SoC chipset. However, this will only be found on the global variants while the US variant is said to get the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The former will also be the chipset that will be seen on the Indian variant. Over the last few weeks, we've heard a lot about the new Exynos 2100 SoC. However, with the Galaxy S21 series phones launch, we will finally see if it manages to fix the crippling issues faced by the previous generation flagship Exynos chipset found on the Galaxy S20 series phones.
For cameras, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is tipped to get four cameras at the back, with the rear set-up set to include a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel secondary lens, and two other 10-megapixel lenses. For selfies, there's expected to be a 40-megapixel lens.
Keeping the light on the device is tipped to be a 4800mAh battery claimed to support up to 25W fast wired charging and up to 15W fast wireless charging. Other than this, leaks suggest the Galaxy S21 Ultra could bring up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and protection against water.
