Vodafone Idea, now Vi has introduced two new prepaid plans priced at Rs 51 and Rs 301. These plans were not officially announced by the telco. However, they are currently listed on Vi's website which means they are available to everyone. Coming to the plans, the Rs 51 prepaid plan is only an SMS plan while the Rs 301 is a combo plan that offers data, calling, and SMS benefits. Both the plans give hospicare insurance cover benefits to users.
"Get Rs 1000 per day for hospitalisation; Double payout of Rs 2000 per day for ICU hospitalisation," reads Vi's website under the details of Rs 51 and Rs 301 prepaid plan. The plans were first reported by Pricebaba.
Coming to the daily benefits of the newly introduced plans, here is what they offer:
Vi Rs 51 prepaid plan: Listed under the 'others' section on Vi's website this prepaid plan only gives SMS benefits along with hospicare benefits. The plan gives 500 SMS -- local and national for a validity of 28 days. The hospicare benefits include Rs 1000 per day hospicare cover by Aditya Birla Health Insurance, for customers between 18 and 55 years with sound health and non-hazardous jobs. The insurance cover can be applied for 10 days at a time and up to 30 days per year.
Vi Rs 301 prepaid plan: The Rs 301 prepaid plan offers 1.5GB daily data with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. This plan also has a 28 days validity. The additional benefits of this plan include free nighttime data with additional, weekend rollover data benefits and access to Vi movies and TV. It also gives the same hospicare benefits as stated for the above plan.
Last month, Vi introduced unlimited high-speed internet at no additional cost during night time, between 12 AM and 6 AM at no additional cost in a bid to retain existing users and to attract more users to its network, The prepaid plans that will give users high-speed internet during the night time will only apply to prepaid users who opt for prepaid plans priced at Rs 249 and above.
Vi has also enabled users to rent a movie through its Vi movies and TV app. According to the telco, this is a first-of-its-kind offering in India's Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) market. Users can rent a film title and watch it within a window of 48 hours from the comfort of their home. They can also Chromecast the film and watch it on a large screen.
