Vivo has launched a new smartphone in India, and it's not the V20 Pro. Instead, the company has quietly launched an entry-level device in the form of the Vivo Y1s. Instead of announcing the phone through its social media handles, the company has gone ahead and listed the phone quietly on its website.
The Vivo Y1s is an entry-level device, which brings with itself a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, 13-megapixel rear camera, and a decent-sized battery for the price. The Vivo Y1s is has been announced to retail under the Rs. 10,000 bracket and as such these specs also reflect the price point of the device.
Vivo Y1s: Price in India
Vivo Y1s has been listed on the company's website with no pricing announced. However, according to a report by Gadgets360, Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom has confirmed that the phone has been priced in India at Rs 7,990 for the single 2GB RAM + 32GB storage option.
The phone has been made available for purchase in two colours Aurora Blue and Olive Black. The report also states that the Vivo Y1s comes with a Jio lock-in offer with additional benefits worth Rs 4,550. The report also adds that there's a 90-day Shemaroo OTT subscription, and one-time screen replacement through OneAssist bundled in when purchasing the device through the Jio partnership.
Vivo Y1s: Specifications
The Vivo Y1s has already been launched in global markets before, and the Indian variant follows a similar script. The phone as such comes to India with a 6.22-inch Halo Full View display capable of producing an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It also gets NEG T2X-1 screen protection and measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm and it weighs 161 grams.
The phone's display flaunts a waterdrop notch, hiding inside itself a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. The phone's back features a single 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The phone comes running FunTouch OS 10.5 based Android 10 OS.
Under the hood, there is a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 chipset running the show here for Y1s. The phone is powered by a 4,030mAh battery that supports reverse charging. Apart from this, the new Vivo phone also gets 2 GB of LPPDR4x RAM and 32 GB of native storage. The phone, however, supports MicroSD card for additional storage.
