"WhatsApp is now starting to roll out disappearing messages for some users. It means the rollout is very slow actually, so there is nothing wrong if you've updated WhatsApp and you don't see the feature yet. Let's see how to verify if the feature is already available for you. Open Contact Info or Group Info (if you're a group admin) and you should see a new row called disappearing messages," Wabetainfo report read.

Wabetainfo has shared the screenshots of how the disappearing message feature will look once it is rolled out. So if you turn on the feature for a particular chat, the messages to that contact will the chat after seven days. Recipients can save the message before it disappears. He/she can either take a screenshot of the message or copy and save it on some other platform. They also have the option of forwarding the message.

When you turn on the disappearing chat feature for a contact, you will see the expiration icon placed next to the profile picture of the contact. Also, when you turn on the disappearing messages for a chat, the recipient will get a notification about it. WhatsApp will also inform the recipient that the new messages will disappear from this chat after 7 days. Similarly, when you turn off the disappearing messages feature, you will receive information about it right on the chat window.

"The process to receive disappearing messages is totally random: WhatsApp is initially starting to enable it for a few users, making the rollout very slow, and in the next days the activation will be extended to more users. Some iOS users should start to see the feature when the next major iOS beta update will be available on TestFlight," WhatsApp features tracker said in its report.

The feature will be rolled out to Android and iOS users by the end of this month.
