WhatsApp fixes storage usage bug, introduces new features in latest Android beta update

WhatsApp is working on a host of new features. The messaging app has recently rolled out features including wallpaper dimming, new sticker packs, and more. The features have been made available for WhatsApp beta users and once the messaging app is done testing, it will be rolled out for a wider audience.

As per Wabetainfo, in the latest beta update, WhatsApp has fixed the Storage Usage bug that had appeared in the previous update. Some users had complained that the Storage Usage section that WhatsApp is currently developing had crashed when the beta testers tried opening it. However, in the latest update, that has been resolved and testers and now use the app.

Apart from fixing the bug, WhatsApp has also rolled out a new sticker pack called Usagyuuun for Android users."WhatsApp is now releasing a new Sticker Pack called Usagyuuun. iOS users have received the same sticker pack now", the report said.

The messaging app is also working on a new feature called Wallpaper dimming. The feature would let users choose the opacity of their WhatsApp wallpaper. This would enhance the user experience further as the users would be able to

Along with the wallpaper dimming feature, WhatsApp is also working on adding doodles to wallpapers. The messaging app will provide an option to users whether they want a plain wallpaper or want WhatsApp doodles on the wallpapers. If the option is enabled, the users will get the chat solid wallopers with doodles on it. However, users can also choose to have a plain wallpaper. These features are being tested for Android and there is no confirmation whether WhatsApp is planning to make these features available for iOS users or not.

Apart from these, WhatsApp is also working on a couple of other features including the vacation mode, auto-archive chats. The Vacation mode feature that WhatsApp seems to be working on for over a year now will allow users to mute notifications from archived chats. However, in the latest update, it was found that WhatsApp will give two options to users to deal with their archived chats. The Notify New Messages and Auto Hide inactive chats option. The first option if enabled will let the users know about the messages from the archived chats but if the second option is enabled WhatsApp will hide chats that have been inactive for six months.
