Xiaomi may have been keeping mum about its next-generation Mi 10 series flagships but that hasn't stopped tipsters from getting information about these upcoming phones. Xiaomi has so far only confirmed the name and the chipset that it will be using in the Mi 10 series but several tips have revealed more. We had a hint that the Mi 10 series will bring Xiaomi's 66W wired fast charging technology to the masses but thanks to MIUI 11, it now seems confirmed.
A tipster on XDA Forums has shared information about the Mi 10 series phones that's been extracted from the MIUI 11 codes. Codes of MIUI 11 v20.1.6 released on January 16, 2020 for the Redmi K30 5G variant in China has information related to the charging technology on the Mi 10 Pro. The codes confirm that the Mi 10 Pro will come with 66W fast wired charging system and there might be another Mi 10 Pro Explorer edition that may also flaunt the same design.
The MIUI 11 codes confirm the code names for the Mi 10 Pro variants and according to a previous leak, the same code number was found to pass through China's CCC certification portal. This device, known as the M2001J1C, is known to come with Xiaomi's 66W fast charging system. There was another device passing through certification at the time, carrying the code name M2001J1E, and this has also been spotted in MIUI 11 codes. This device could end up as an Explorer Edition of the Mi 10 Pro but nothing has been confirmed regarding this so far.
Previously, there were reports carrying information that the Mi 10 Pro will get the 66W fast charging whereas the regular Mi 10 with a bigger battery than the Pro variant will come with a slower 48W fast charging. Xiaomi's headlining 100W fast wired charging system is yet to make a debut but it seems that it could be a while before Xiaomi releases it on one of its premium phones. Chances are that the Mi Mix series could get a new phone later this year and it might end up featuring the 100W charging system.
The 100W fast-charging system has been said to recharge an average-sized battery in under 17 minutes and this could make it the fastest charging solution in the market. So far, the fastest charging system comes from Oppo in the form of its 65W SuperVOOC system in its Reno Ace smartphone
