Barely a day after the launch of the OnePlus 8T, Xiaomi appears to be taking the fight to the phone maker by announcing not one, but two new flagship smartphones in India. Announced under the Mi 10T series, the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro come across aggressively priced smartphones that also offer a lot when it comes to hardware and features.

While it's true that both these Xiaomi phones look interesting on paper, it is arguably the more powerful, Mi 10T Pro that could offer better competition to the OnePlus 8T going forward. Here's how the two smartphones compare in terms of price, features, and hardware.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Display

Both the OnePlus 8T and Mi 10T Pro go big on displays as they both feature panels that are not only expansive in size, but also offer support for high resolutions and fast refresh rates. Talking about the OnePlus 8T, it flaunts a 6.55-inch display with support for Full HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 402ppi. The 20:9 aspect ratio phone is also capable of working at a high refresh rate of 120Hz and has very good viewing angles and colour reproduction.

In comparison, the Mi 10T Pro comes with a slightly bigger 6.67-inch fullHD+ IPS LCD display with support for up to 144Hz refresh rate. The display uses a 7-step adaptive refresh rate technology, which handles refresh rate dynamically on the fly depending on the task at hand. The display also has a peak brightness of 650nits. However, it's less than the peak 1100nits of peak brightness offered by the OnePlus 8T's panel.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Chipset, RAM and Storage

As far as the chipset goes, both the devices use the same Snapdragon 865 SoC under the hood with an Adreno 650 GPU tasked for handling games and other graphics-intensive tasks. While not the most powerful chipset out there in the market, it is still one of the best that money can buy for an Android smartphone. This chipset also offers 5G connectivity which sadly still remains a distant dream for users in our country.

In terms of the RAM, the OnePlus 8T manages to take a slight lead here as it offers 12GB of LPDDR4 RAM on its top-end variant of the phone. On the other hand, the Mi 10T Pro only gets 8GB of RAM for handling multitasking and games. For storage, the OnePlus 8T is available in 128/256GB UFS 3.1 memory options. The MI 10T Pro only gets a 128GB option.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Software

This is again an area where the OnePlus 8T takes the lead. This is because it comes with an Android 11-based copy of Oxygen OS out-of-the-box. In comparison, the Mi 10T Pro comes with the company's MIUI 12 which is a skin that's based on Google's Android 10 operating system. However, as software goes, expect this gap to be closed by Xiaomi in the coming months as it bumps this phone up to Android 11 with its next version of the MIUI software.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Battery

Here the competition starts to get a little fierce as the two phones take very different approaches when it comes to the battery department. While the OnePlus 8T offers a 500mAh smaller battery, it goes big with the fast charging tech paired with the battery.

The company has used a dual-battery solution with the OnePlus 8T which allows the company to bring support for 65W fast charging to the smartphone. The Mi 10T Pro also offers fast charging technology, however, it hits the ceiling at 33W. But to neutralise the effect of this, this new phone from Xiaomi offers a bigger 5000mAh battery.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Cameras

Both the phones offer impressive camera set-ups, with the OnePlus 8T bringing a quad-camera set-up with a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor at the heart of it. The lens has an aperture of F/1.7. The lens also supports OIS and EIS. The phone also gets a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a field of view of 123-degrees. There's also a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens on the device.

The Mi 10T Pro takes things a notch higher with the 108-megapixel rear camera-based system on the phone which is paired to two more lenses -- 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. Of the former is an ultra-wide lens while the latter is designed for clicking macro shots.

Mi 10T Pro vs OnePlus 8T: Price

Price is arguably the biggest differentiator between the two phones. While the Mi 10T Pro has been launched at a price of Rs 39,999 for the single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, the OnePlus 8T starts retail at Rs 42,999 for the entry-level 8GB+128GB RAM and storage version. For the higher-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, OnePlus charges users Rs 45,999.
