Xiaomi is believed to be working on the Mi Band 5 successor. The Mi Band 6 was recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with the model number XMSH15HM. This means that the Mi Band 6 India launch can take place sometime soon. The device has also been spotted on the Indonesian Telecom certification website with the same model number. The BIS listing was first spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma who shared the details on Twitter. The listing doesn't give away much about the band and its features.

Reports in the past have suggested that the new Mi Band can come with SpO2 monitoring and a built-in GPS. The fitness tracker was spotted on the Zepp app with Alexa. The band is also expected to feature a bigger display. It is tipped to come with 30 activity modes, including some new ones such as dance, Zumba, cricket, basketball, and kickboxing.

The band is also expected to support NFC. However, that will vary from market to market. In India, it is unlikely to get the NFC support. That's all we know about the new fitness band for now. Xiaomi has kept most details under wraps but should reveal more as the launch nears.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 comes with a 1.1-inch touchscreen AMOLED colour display. It is equipped with heart rate sensor, sleep monitor and PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) that uses heart rate data to suggest users of the desired activity level. The band comes with 11 sports modes for workouts including yoga, rowing, indoor cycling, among others.

The Mi Band 5 boasts of a large battery which is claimed to last up to 14 days on a single charge. It has a remote shutter button to take photos on the phone. The band also comes with a built-in barometer to gauge the atmospheric pressure.

Apart from this, the Mi Band 5 is also water-resistant up to 50 meters underwater for 30 minutes and is compatible with Android and iOS as it connects via Bluetooth 5.0. The band was launched in India last year. The Mi Band 6 is expected to be a significant upgrade on the Mi Band 5.
