Xiaomi Mi Band 6 likely to look a lot like Mi Band 5, leak reveals

The fitness tracker has already received certifications in India and Indonesia and is expected to feature a similar design to its predecessor. However, it is likely to have upgraded specs and a bigger display.

Xiaomi launched a smart band Mi Band 5 for Rs 2499 in September last year. Now it is likely to launch its successor soon, the Mi Band 6, which reportedly looks a lot like its predecessor. The fitness tracker has already received certifications in India and Indonesia. Xiaomi has also announced a product launch event on March 29 globally. It is, however, not clear if the smart band will be announced then as many reports in the past have also speculated a June launch for the wearable.

The Mi Band 6 is being developed in partnership between Xiaomi and Huami and is reported to look a lot like its predecessor, the Mi Band 5. The leaked image on the EU Declaration of Conformity page reported by Gizmochina shows the Mi Band 6 with a black strap, similar to its predecessor. Its display design is also a lot like the Mi Band 5 with a charging cable on the side for magnetic charging.

A similar design aside, the Mi Band 6 is likely to have better and upgrades specs which include a larger screen and improved activity tracking. Reports speculate that the Mi Band 6 will support SpO2 Blood Oxygen monitoring and will come with a built-in Alexa assistant. Further, the fitness tracker could reportedly come with NFC and non-NFC variants. With support for NFC, the new Mi Band could also bring support for Google Pay and other payment services.

It is also said to feature GPS, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, 30 activity tracking modes out of which 12 will be workout modes such as Zumba, stepper, street dance, and pilates. The Mi Band 6 could further come with a mute notification feature for time management, a refreshed UI, and the ability to control and manage smart home devices. Some reports also speculate that the Mi Band 6 users will have the ability to answer WhatsApp and Telegram from the wearable.

Xiaomi introduced features like a stress level calculator and the menstrual cycle tracker with its Mi Band 5. The Mi Band 5 has around 100 watch faces to choose from and a battery life of 14 days. It lacked blood oxygen level monitoring which is speculated to come with the Mi Band 6 with other upgrades.
