Budget is fair and Robin Hood in approach: Colvyn Harris

Nothing earth shattering from my perspective. A budget that is fair and Robin Hood in approach. Tax the rich taxpayer who has been in the net forever, and never widen the net to catch all those who don't pay tax. That's the paradox of justice and tax!

Nothing earth shattering from my perspective. A budget that is fair and Robin Hood in approach. Tax the rich taxpayer who has been in the net forever, and never widen the net to catch all those who don't pay tax. That's the paradox of justice and tax!

The give-to-the-poor I like, it's a question of who finally contributes. Same suspects, as in the salaried class.

The rural schemes, acknowledging the poor by understanding their needs is a great step - medical subsidies for dialysis machines, generic drugs, helping the farmers and the technological steps to ensure that there is minimum interaction with the taxmen - especially the 90 day and 9 per cent rule are all great strides forward.

My wish, however, is more Rip Van Winkle in approach: awaken to do whatever we do, thoroughly. Especially our infrastructure development. We make 1000's of kilometers of roads, not one perfect road to drive on! And that sadly that is our GDP capture. Doing the same roads all over again to shoddy standards!
