Lebanon blasts shock the world, stored ammonium nitrate kills more than 100

A massive explosion occurred in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, killing dozens and injuring thousands of people. The explosion flattened much of a port and damaged buildings across the capital, sending a giant mushroom cloud into the sky. More than 3,000 people were injured, with bodies buried in the rubble.
