The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have formalized a partnership to support India’s Gaganyaan mission. A Technical Implementing Plan (TIP) was signed on December 4, 2024, at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
The TIP focuses on ESA providing critical ground tracking and communication support for the Gaganyaan mission. This collaboration ensures a reliable data flow and communication with the Orbital Module during its orbital operations.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Anilkumar AK, Director of ISRO Telemetry, Tracking, and Command Network (ISTRAC), and Dietmar Pilz, ESA’s Director of Technology and Engineering. ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath and Belgium’s Ambassador to India, Didier van der Hasselt, witnessed the signing.
