Domestic benchmarks continued to fall for the fourth straight session on October 23 (Monday). The 30-share BSE Sensex pack slipped 825 points to close at 64,571, while the broader NSE Nifty index lost 261 points to settle at 19,625. Top losers on the Nifty50 were LTIMindtree, Adani Enterprises, Hindalco, JSW Steel and Adani Ports while sole gainers were M&M and Bajaj Finance.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, RIL and Bajaj Finance Bank were most active on NSE, in terms of value. Tata Steel, SBI, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of power producer SJVN were as the top losers in the NSE 500 index. The stock slipped 11.94% on NSE to close at Rs 66.35.
Jubilant Pharmova shares ended 10.40% lower at Rs 358.50 against their previous close of Rs 400. Around 9.07 lakh shares of the company changed hands on Monday worth Rs 32.52 crore.
Shares of BEML slipped 10.13% to end at Rs 2058.95 today. The company's market capitalisation (m-cap) came at Rs 8578 crore.
Shares of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers & Finolex Industries also slipped around 10% today, respectively. Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers m-cap stood at Rs 6,838 crore while Finolex Industries commanded a market valuation of Rs 12,573 crore.
Shares of CreditAccess Grameen rose sharply today. The stock ended 8.46% higher at Rs 1507.40 against the previous close of Rs 1389.85. Around 54.25 lakh shares of the company changed hands on Monday worth Rs 817.77 crore. It was the top gainer on NSE.
BSE shares surged 7.52% on Monday close at Rs 1707.15. Around 71.14 lakh shares of the company changed hands in a transaction worth Rs 1214.47 crore.
Shares of IPCA Labs, Medplus Health & United Breweries were also among top gainers on the NSE 500 pack today.
