Benchmark indices ended lower on Tuesday, pausing their two-day upward trend. Headline index NSE Nifty settled below 19,100 level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Eicher Motors, LTIMindtree and ONGC while gainers included SBI Life Insurance, Titan, HDFC Life, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Asian Paints.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank were most active on NSE, in terms of value. Tata Steel, State Bank of India (SBI) and Tata Motors were the other buzzing stock on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Rainbow Childrens Medicare emerged as the top laggard in the NSE 500 index. The stock dived 6.51% on NSE today to settle at Rs 1,063.15.
DCM Shriram shares declined 4.88% to close at Rs 926.5. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 14,448.1 crore.
Shares of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation slipped 4.83% to end at Rs 1,353.85 today. The company's market cap came at Rs 9,446.1 crore.
Shares of CCL Products India fell 4.53% today to settle at Rs 590.15. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 7,850.6 crore.
Shares of Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) rose sharply today. The stock jumped 9.99% to close at Rs 756.05 on Tuesday.
Piramal Pharma shares surged 9.48% to end the session at Rs 104.5. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 13,825.6 crore today.
Shares of Lux Industries were also among top gainers in the NSE 500 pack today. Lux Industries' stock gained 7.3% to settle at Rs 1,364.7. The company's market cap was at Rs 4,103.9 crore.
