Indian equity benchmarks settled higher on Friday, led by gains in automobile, pharma and consumer stocks. The 30-share BSE pack rose 191 points or 0.26% to end at 72,832 and the broader NSE Nifty index moved 85 points or 0.39% up to close at 22,097. Stocks such as CG Power, Zomato, Paytm and Macrotech Developers were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 during this week.
CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd's stock was the top gainer this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 14.64% to Rs 535.95 on NSE. The stock has risen 25.82% in the last one month.
Zomato Ltd's stock surged 14.04% this week to Rs 174.2 on NSE, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the stock has climbed 9.8%.
One97 Communications Ltd's (Paytm's parent) stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week as it moved 13.96% higher to Rs 402.35 on NSE. The stock has edged 1.85% up in the last one month.
Macrotech Developers Ltd's stock surged 13% to Rs 1,158.2 on NSE in the week ended on March 22, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. On a monthly basis, the stock has risen 1.94%.
Torrent Power Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week as it jumped 12.21% to Rs 1283.65 on NSE. In the last one month, the stock has gained 14.13%. Shares of Indus Towers, Oberoi Realty, Sona BLW Precision Forgings, Maruti Suzuki India and FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa's parent) also picked up pace during the week on NSE 200.
Coforge Ltd's stock slumped 8.99% this week to Rs 5,540.1 on NSE, and was the top loser in the Nifty 200 pack. The stock has tanked 15.37% in the last one month. On Friday, domestic IT stocks tumbled after US software giant Accenture reduced its fiscal 2024 revenue forecast. Accenture is widely considered to be the bellwether for the Indian IT sector.
Infosys Ltd's shares dived 8.74% to Rs 1,508.85 on NSE this week, making the stock one of the top losers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the scrip has slipped 8.86%. During the week, shares of Tata Chemicals, HCLTechnologies, TCS and Apollo Tyres also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
