Indian equity benchmarks on Friday touched their fresh all-time high levels, led by gains in technology stocks after TCS and HCLTech kicked off Q1 FY25 earnings season on a strong note. The 30-share BSE Sensex scaled a lifetime high of 80,894 before settling 622 points or 0.78% up at 80,519. The broader NSE Nifty index scaled a new intraday peak of 24,592. It closed 186 points or 0.77% higher at 24,502. Stocks such as RVNL, Oil India, IRFC and Paytm were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 during this week.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd's (RVNL's) stock was the top gainer this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 49.67% to Rs 626.75 on NSE. The stock has zoomed 60.95% in the last one month. The railway PSU has been securing new orders and signing meaningful pacts. Also, a majority of rail stocks are in focus ahead of the Budget presentation on July 23.
Oil India Ltd's stock surged 24.8% this week to Rs 614.45 on NSE, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the stock has soared 42.11%.
Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd's (IRFC's) stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week as it moved 22.34% higher to Rs 217.43 on NSE. The stock has jumped 23.4% in the last one month.
One97 Communications Ltd's (Paytm's parent) stock climbed 12.97% to Rs 465.95 on NSE in the week ended on July 12, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. The stock has surged 22.44% on a monthly basis.
Gland Pharma Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week as it jumped 13.3% to Rs 26.6 on NSE. In the last one month, the stock has risen 21.9%. Shares of ONGC, REC, NHPC, Sona BLW Precision Forgings and Federal Bank also picked up pace on NSE 200 during the week.
Vodafone Idea Ltd's stock slumped 7.95% this week to Rs 16.09 on NSE, and was the top loser in the Nifty 200 pack. The stock has slipped 0.62% in the last one month.
Macrotech Developers Ltd's shares plunged 7.54% to Rs 1,395.8 on NSE this week, making the stock one of the top losers in the Nifty 200 universe. The scrip has fallen 5.57% in the last one month. During the week, shares of Bandhan Bank, Bank of Baroda, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank and ABB India also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
