Indian equity benchmarks on Friday settled with sharp gains as consumer, banks, financials, automobile and IT stocks surged. The 30-share BSE Sensex zoomed 843 points or 1.04% to close at 82,133 and the broader NSE Nifty moved up 220 points or 0.89% to end at 24,768. Stocks such as Vedanta, Delhivery, BSE, Voltas and Muthoot Finance were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 this week.
Delhivery Ltd's stock was the top gainer this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 17.19% to Rs 390.6. The counter has gained 14.88% in the last one month.
Vedanta Ltd's stock surged 9.95% this week to Rs 519.5 on NSE and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. The scrip has moved up by 16.81% in the last one month.
BSE Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week, moving 8.47% higher to Rs 5,634.95 on NSE. The counter has gained 20.45% in the last one month.
Voltas Ltd's stock jumped 8.37% to Rs 1,807.5 on NSE in the week ended on December 13 and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. The scrip has risen 6.35% on a monthly basis.
Muthoot Finance Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week, rising 8.02% to Rs 2,092.85 on NSE. The stock has ascended by 16.74% in the last one month. Shares of Max Healthcare Institute, Jindal Steel & Power, Persistent Systems, Page Industries and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) also picked up pace on NSE 200 during the week.
Godrej Consumer Products Ltd's stock slumped 10.71% this week to Rs 1,111.45 on NSE and was the top loser in the Nifty 200 pack. The stock has fallen 5.51% in the last one month.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd's shares plunged 6.4% to Rs 631.8 on NSE this week, making the stock one of the top losers in the Nifty 200 universe. The scrip has lost 7.64% in the last one month. During the week, shares of Biocon, Avenue Supermarts, Alkem Laboratories, IDBI Bank and Bank of Maharashtra also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
