These sectors underperformed in April 2021

Demand was lower by 7.2 per cent in April 2021 for petrol products when compared to 19.2 million tonnes in April 2019.

Crude throughput and coal production in April 2021 declined by 4 per cent and 8 per cent, respectively, compared to April 2019.

Finished steel production in April 2021 was 12.6 per cent lower than in April 2019.

Production of passenger cars and two-wheelers in April 2021 dropped 19-20 per cent below their corresponding pre-Covid levels in April 2019.
